The semester is over! Now I am busy working full time at the office and pummeling through the snow with the dogs.

Here’s an outline of what happened these past few months:

Orientation

• Summer ends, orientation leader training starts…there’s blood.
• Popeye’s works its way into my diet.
• The law school provides Febreeze.
• Alesus and I go muck diving with the dogs.
• Orientation begins, and my twitter followers announce themselves.
• My bumper sticker is popular with the neighbors.

• The second day of orientation is epic, I think the 1Ls are bored…
• Uh, why is there corn here?
• The orientation leaders get undermined by just about everyone. Sigh. I think we call this “differing opinions.”
• Someone’s getting skin cancer.
• Orientation ends, and we tell them not to be crazy.

September: End of the Lake Days

• It’s the Minnesota State Fair y’all!
• The semester starts with legal history and a survey of our beliefs on the death penalty…
• Felons barge into my apartment building.
• Tila plays Gwen, and then Dra Matica gives us some Jennifer Hudson-realness.
• My apartment building floods, wet rags are everywhere.
• A pedestrian gets hit by a car as I leave the coffeeshop.

• We explore the rocky patch, and the headless mannequins.
• Forgetting the blackberry is a challenge.
• My schedule is horrible. Eek.
• Harley doesn’t care for the house rules and Alesus isn’t having it.
• Around town: Minnehaha Falls, Hiawatha, Fort Snelling.
• My insurer drives me nuts.
• Oysters at Stella’s and what a view…
• Tuition Protests at the University of Minnesota

October: Fall’s a-coming!

• Class and elegance at Denny’s.
• Harley stretches it out but keeps it classy.
• Gertrude hogs the ball and wakes me up in the middle of the night.
• First time at the Suburban World Theater.
• Wait, why is it so dark?
• Around  campus: I’m scandalous, Zombies cause traffic, and leave blood everywhere.
• Around Minneapolis: Mad Vines, Americana.
• Alesus and I break up.
• Whatever, I’m not a hippy, but I’m really, really busy, and sort of tired.
• How to make friends…or at least have everyone think you’re a creep.

• I unleash a perfume bomb in the law school locker room.
• The ShowPlace ICON gives me a $27 Ticket, but I get a refund and go back for Due Date.
• I’m very polite.
• Absolutely humiliated by the rottweiler at the Obama rally and then overshares.
• Trying to get ahead of this workload. (and waste my time going to class.)
• Let’s get these dating priorities straight…
• The snow comes.
• Our legal history speakers are not politically correct at all.
• Law school makes me less happy, but not unhappy.
• Halloween time! It’s sort of epic…

November: Winter Smackdown

• The IRS gives me the CAF run-around.
• My computer is taken out by a virus.
• It’s weightloss time!
• The last day of fall, and some shots before the storm.
• November Snowstorm: The unlucky driver, Harley vs. the snow.

• I get held hostage at the salon parking lot.
• I’m outraged at this dog.
• Ice chunks at Jetset, Naomi isn’t having it.

• Nathan and I experience the epic ice storm. I have  never seen so many car accidents.
• Calhoun’s paths ice over, and I get to laugh as the dogs flop around. (Gertrude isn’t amused.)
• Action dog!
• Things get serious, I finish my first final paper.
• Halvers and I start dating as Harley covers my apartment in vomit.
• Mall of America gets festive (and pretty chipper.)
• Final presentations in Death Penalty seminar.
• The phone book hoarder.

December: Espresso, snow, and dating.

• Snowed in at work.
• Considerations.
• Gertrude is over it, shaking it out, and running on the ice.
• More snow, infatuation. Bamchicka-wow, wow…
• Bought an espresso maker and it changed my life. Decaf lattes become a staple of my day.
• Hello Kitty, I prefer my car-hogging dogs.
• I’m the mouse killer, and the loon.
• Officially have perfect attendance at school… not sure for what.
• Winterstacks!
• Blizzard 2010: snowed in, Halver’s car gets buried, and I decide (or rather confirm) that Halver’s a keeper after he helps me shovel.
• More shoveling, and a bitchy note from a tenant, and a mission to excavate my car.

• Some awkwardness at McDonald’s.
• The dogs can wait.
• I am class and elegance.
• Gertrude is crazy, the cat is pimptastic, and Harley just wants to cuddle.
• Fun (and some chaos) at the lake.
• End of 3L fall!
