UMN is close enough to downtown Minneapolis that rents/available dogs do not fluctuate too much with the school year (outside of the Dinkytown area) Plus may is the busiest month of the year! I have two weeks of finals and then two weeks of law journal petitioning :D If I wait on the dog, I need to wait until June. Well, I chose my particular apartment because it is dog friendly and there are no limitations on what dogs are available.

I suspect that when school gets out in a few weeks and people have to more, there will be a bunch of dogs who end up in the shelter. Tula is gorgeous, but she will impact your ability to rent in places. If you haven't had a chance to meet Harley, I'd say this is a no-go, as you need to feel the "click" with an animal that could be with you for a decade or more. I have an Aussie, and love him dearly, but he was a handful as a pup/young dog - he chewed things and barked - a lot - whenever we left him for even an hour. But he is pretty much the smartest dog I ever met, and has been an awesome companion for almost 13 years. But I don't know if I could have handled him as a single-person. Good luck, Dennis.
