Hey, love the blog, keep up the great work. I am heading to Miami this summer for a little mental health “anywhere, but law school” vacay and was wondering if you could impart some of your wisdom of things to do that won’t make me look like a complete tourist?

    • Well hitting up the Versailles restaurant on 8th street is a requirement. It’s touristy, but still, required.

There’s also “The Knife” restaurant in Coconut Grove. A little hard to find (it’s on the second floor) but I’m sure you’ll manage. And if you’re feeling like some real Miami flavor there’s the weekend flea market at the Flagler Dog Track, and of course, Allahpattah’s little Fashion district on 20th street.

And of course for nightlife http://www.cooljunkie.com/miami and http://www.miami.com … if you are on a budget, Club Twist in South Beach is a huge gay club that has no cover. There are also indie clubs like http://www.whiteroomshows.com near Overtown/Downtown Miami, but they are literally by crackhouses, so be careful where you park.

If you’re doing the beach thing I would head up to Fort Lauderdale instead of Miami. It’s less filthy. ;)

Annnnnd…. of course, the Miami Design District, http://www.miamidesigndistrict.net, Lincoln Road http://www.lincolnroad.org, and Brickell http://www.marybrickellvillage.com.

      That’s all!
